4X Leukemia Survivor Celebrating 20 Years Cancer-Free! 🎉🤩
Emily Sandusky was diagnosed with leukemia four times - in elementary school, middle school, high school and college and this month she is celebrating 20 years in remission!! 🥳 Emily attributes a positive mindset and healthy lifestyle to her long-term remission. Interestingly, however, she also developed an infection during her last encounter with cancer that began spreading down her neck and after removing the necrotic tissue in her cheek during exploratory surgery, her cancer stayed away for good.
Could the cancer in her body have been healed in part due to an immune response to the infection? Possibly? Healing after bacterial infection has been observed in a number of cases, which you can read about on the "Infections and Cancer" page of my website (there is an abundance of information on this subject but I appreciate your patience as I work on my collection ). Emily's long-term remission after this infection is also very interesting to me because of my own experience with Coley's Toxins.
