Hippocrates Soup with Baked Potatoes & Mixed Cooked Vegetables

Hippocrates soup

Ingredients:

Leeks

Parsnips

Celery Root

Tomato

Directions:

Scrub, but do not peel, vegetables under running water.

Soak in distilled water with raw apple cider vinegar.

Shake dry and cut off any unhealthy (gray, moldy or slimy) parts of the vegetables.

Chop and place in a pot.

Cover with distilled water.

Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 3 hours.

Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:

Potatoes of your choice

*Dr. Max Gerson allowed sweet potatoes/yams only once per week. I typically use Russet potatoes but also alternate between yellow, red, and purple potatoes.

**Gerson allowed 400g of potatoes daily for his patients on his Tuberculosis diet, which 60% of his cancer patients in his book A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases, followed.

***I typically have 2/3 the allotment of potatoes as someone about 2/3 the size of a man.

Directions:

Scrub, but do not peel, potatoes under running water.

Shake dry and place in a glass bowl or container to soak in distilled water and raw apple cider vinegar for a few seconds.

Shake dry.

If you choose, chop, halve or leave potatoes whole and place in baking pot or pan.

Cover baking container if you can to cook potatoes more quickly and keep them relatively moist. Covering with a tightly fitted lid is optimal.

Bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit until you smell the aroma of your beautiful baked potatoes! Cooking time will depend on the size of the pieces of potatoes and how tightly fitted the lid is on your baking container.

Mixed cooked vegetables

Ingredients:

This time, I chose:

Red onion

Green squash (zucchini) and

Daikon radish

Directions:

Clean vegetables under running water.

Soak in distilled water/raw apple cider vinegar.

Shake dry and cut off any unhealthy (gray, moldy or slimy) parts of the vegetables. Chop and place in a pot. Do NOT add any water. Heat at a very low temperature, below simmering but enough to change the appearance of the vegetables. A hot plate or warmer burner on a stove will work. In some cases when I haven't had access to either I've placed in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit while baking potatoes.

Special thank you to Matthew for the soaking, rinsing and cooking techniques that he found while researching Dr. Gerson's cancer and tuberculosis diets! :)
