10 years ago today... the worst scan of my life 💔

Hey, Friend. 😊🙏 Thinking about this moment from ten years ago is surreal. Did it really happen? Touching my scars and seeing the report - yes, it really did happen. 🖤 January 19th, 2011 was just two weeks after I had finished treatment. I was looking forward to a break, at least for a little while! I had just been through months of traumatic surgeries, missing out on my senior year as a college student-athlete and one month of radiation treatments. Unfortunately I had found a small bump under my chin and went to see one of my oncologists who biopsied the bump to find out what it was. It was melanoma again. AGAIN?!!? HOW?!! I couldn't believe it. My doctor ordered an emergency CT scan that night to make sure the cancer hadn't spread anywhere else. The results of that scan changed my life forever. It led to the worst experience of my life - complete hopelessness and despair. Incredible emotional agony. It was hard just to be inside my body with all these emotions, but I couldn't escape. All I could do was pace around the room, screaming, yelling and moaning. I hope never to experience that again in my life and I pray that you don't have to experience that either. Despite what doctors had to say - 7 months to live without treatment or 14 months to live with treatment - God had other plans in store!!! ❤ But... you'll have to hear about the rest in the Modern Miracles Summit that I participated in a couple of weeks ago with some friends!! 😁🙏 I love the stories of everyone in the summit including Chuck & Hannah, whose journey I shared with you a few months ago, in which Chuck was literally touched and healed by Jesus, as well as my friend Matt Ode who had an incredible recovery from terminal testicular cancer as a 25 year-old physical trainer that included weeks in ICU in a coma, multiple organ system failure and a two-year mental and physical battle before fully recovering!
