Hi, Friend! 😊
Last night I celebrated my 30th birthday and 9th year of remission with a surprise virtual party that my mom put together for me. It was a very blessed evening, and as it happens frequently, I was moved to tears. For anyone who can relate (or knows of anyone in a similar situation), I was grateful to know that I was loved, even though when I compare myself to others I don't measure up to most. I still live at home with my parents and for me that's a big insecurity. But a couple friends reminded me last Friday that this doesn't define me and there are other things in my life that I can feel good about - most of all, that my heavenly Father loves me, accepts me and is proud of me. I got a very special reminder of that when I found a picture in the kitchen yesterday morning worth a thousand words from my dad.
😭😭😭 How could I be loved like that? I don't know, I guess that's how dads are, at least dads that reflect the character of our heavenly Creator. Here are a couple verses that reassure me of this...
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Psalm 103:13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
You are loved just like I am, Friend!! I pray that you know that. I know that with the pandemic it might be confusing how a loving God could be allowing such a thing to happen. If you have trouble believing, please let me know and I'd love to encourage you.
With His love,
