Encouragement for June

Everybody has to work, and all work involves some tasks we simply don't want to do, like paperwork, cleaning up messes, working late to finish projects, dealing with unhappy people, etc.

However, some work also involves risks, like the risk of failure, embarrassment, financial loss and heartbreak. Sounds terrible, doesn't it? Well, in the case of a career and way of life, I think maybe it's actually best to embrace these risks for the sake of living life with passion, enthusiasm, joy and fulfillment. Is there a profession or a practice you love and dream of pursuing? Listen to your heart.

If you're going to be working anyway, would you rather go outside your comfort zone, taking big risks and producing a labor of love, or would you rather stay in your comfort zone, avoiding any major risks and producing a labor of obligation, mediocrity, and/or monotony?

Letting dreams go unfulfilled is one of the top regrets of the dying,* and some experiences in my life helped me understand that.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather go through life uncomfortable in parts of my work, risking failure and making humbling mistakes while pursuing my dream than reach the end, look back on my "comfortable" life, and regret not taking the risks that would've led to me enjoying a life I love.
